As part of our commitment to protecting your information, we have updated our Privacy Notice to explain how we collect, store and handle your personal data.
We have always been careful to protect your information, but this is part of our ongoing commitment to be transparent about how we use your information and keep it safe. This will also give you more clarity over how your information is being managed.

Who we are
South Kesteven District Council is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a ‘data controller’. This means we will process and hold your personal data when you visit our website and complete the contact form in relation to your enquiry.
What information do we collect
We collect your name, email address, phone number and enquiry when you complete the contact form. We also collect your location and IP address through Google Analytics.
Why we collect your data
We collect your personal data to:
- Provide statistical data and showcase the footfall of the website
- Review the success and reach of the project and website
- Enable us to respond to your enquiry.
As far as is reasonable and practicable, we will ensure that the information you provide will remain accurate and kept up to date.
How we collect your data
We are collecting your data by asking for your permission to process your personal information when you complete a contact form. As we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time (please see the section ‘know your rights’ below).
We use Google Analytics to collect information about your visit to our website based on your IP address. This information is used help us track what people are visiting on the website so that we can improve it. However, we do not use this information to identify you as an individual and you will remain anonymous, unless you identify yourself by completing a contact form.
To make our website useable, we store small text files called cookies on your computer or other devices. Cookies also provide anonymous website statistics measuring how you use the website to help us make improvements. The vast majority of websites do this and the cookies are not used to identify you personally.

When we’ll share your data
Your personal data and enquiry may be shared with other Teams within the ERDF PA6 Witham Programme. This is in order to provide a service to you by answering your query effectively, and to ensure our records are kept up to date.
In addition, data collected by Google Analytics may be used to showcase the website’s success and reach and, therefore, the benefits of creating a website for similar projects.In addition, we have a legal duty to provide personal information to other organisations or if there is a good reason that is more important than protecting your privacy. This does not happen often, but we may share your information with the police in order to find and stop crime and fraud, for example.
However, we do not sell your personal information to anyone outside of South Kesteven District Council and will never share your information for marketing purposes.
Rarely do we transfer personal information to other countries outside the EEA, but for those circumstances in which we do, suitable security arrangements would be in place.
Know your rights
You have many rights regarding your personal data, which include seeing what personal information we hold about you. In addition, you can ask us to correct inaccuracies, sometimes delete and restrict the personal information we hold.
If you want to remove your consent, please contact DPO@southkesteven.gov.uk and tell us which service you are using so we can deal with your request.
How do we protect your information
We comply with all laws concerning the protection of personal information and have security measures in place to reduce the risk of theft, loss, destruction, misuse or inappropriate disclosure of personal information.
How long do we keep your information
We will keep your information until the end of the project (currently 31st October 2022, subject to extension) unless you have requested its removal.
